Greetings!
The Rotary Club of Grand Turk is proud to be a
member of the Premier Service Organization, with a membership of over 32,000
Rotary Clubs in 169 countries. Worldwide, there are more than 1.2 million
Rotarians. All members share a belief in Rotary’s motto: “Service above Self.”
As an organization of business and professional people, Rotary provides
humanitarian services both in our local communities and throughout the world. We
promote high ethical standards in all vocations and seek to build peace through
understanding, among the diverse peoples of the world.
The membership of our club is intentionally diverse, with active members
representing different vocational classifications. The purpose of this
classification principle is to promote acquaintances and understanding beyond
one’s day-to-day business and professional relationships.
A wide variety of programs are conducted at our
weekly luncheon meeting including speeches by government officials, scientists,
and historians; presentations by charitable groups and international visitors;
and demonstrations of all sorts. Some are serious and thought provoking, while
others are light and humorous.
Our Club is more than just a service club. We are people bound together
by common values and sense of service above self. We can’t help but feel like a
family that way.
This year, my goal for the Club is to foster and strengthen:
-
Pride in being a Rotarian
- Enthusiasm for Rotary and our work and
-
Commitment to the Club, our fellow Rotarians, and our community as a
whole.
I am proud to be associated with this great group of Rotarians and to be
able to lead this Club during our Centennial year!
Come join us for fellowship, fun, and service.
Yours in Rotary,
Joseph B. A. Swann, Charter
