SPECIAL BOARD / EXECUTIVE MEETINGS - OCTOBER 2010

Monday 25^th, October 2010

President Monica Wilson called the Extraordinary Meeting to order at approximately 5:30 p.m. and welcomed all in attendance.

- New Treasurer appointed: Rotarian Howard Wilton was formally introduced as the new treasurer having been asked to assume duties as treasurer following the resignation of the former treasurer. There were no objections and Rotarian Howard Wilton formally accepted the position.

- Club Secretary, Rotarian Claudia rescinded a request for leave of absence and will continue in her position. She requested the support of senior Rotarians whom she saw as a valuable resource in the organization. Support was pledged by Rotarians present.

- Improving Meetings: It was suggested that each avenue of service must have at least one activity culminating in a brief report of about 5 minutes. Each leader was to suggest at least one person to work with them.

- Community Service: Ideas were discussed as to how the ‘school feeding’ programme should be approached. Three persons were selected to sit on a committee to examine the feasibility of the project and put forward the best course of action.

- Community service Continued: A decision was taken to sponsor a bench for the gazebo built by Mr. F. Misick for public use. The bench will display the rotary logo.

- Social Evening: The next social evening will take place on Friday 29th October, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.. The venue will be the Salt Raker.
